Meeting Day/Time

How would you feel about meeting Wednesdays instead of Thursdays this month (July) and August? The reason I ask, is because I have to be here Wednesdays for the Summer reading program, and it would be nice to have it the night I am already here...however, if Wednesdays are bad for you guys, I could probably manage to come in...let me know what you think--The next meeting will be next week either Wednesday or Thursday and we will be dicussing Jeff's Chapter 3, and whatever else anyone brings.

Writing is such a relief...

This week is the kind of week, where so far I have killed off three characters, and changed the plot five times (and all of this in about 10 pages...) Is this a good thing? Is this a bad thing? It puts my word count at about 5,000, which is good...and it certainly helps me get some anger and frustration out on the page...well, today we meet again 6pm, hope to see some of you here. I could really use some input. :)

I sent everyone an email regarding this week's workshop...
I've had to cancel since I'm not feeling tip top. BUT--I will see you all next Thursday at 6, and hopefully we can use this time to write A LOT!! Best of luck to you all--hope you don't get the flu...;)

Today marks the second writing workshop we have held inspired by Chris Baty's book, No Plot? No Problem! The last workshop was in January of this year, and was actually the beginning of our writer's group. This month, each Thursday in June, we will meet and I will hand out little jewels of wisdom from the book, and we will discuss our own experiences as we attempt to (again) write a novel in thirty days! Some of us will be new to the game, and some have been here a while, my hope is that each of us will learn something from the experience. As for me, I am setting several goals for this workshop--I will begin a new novel--however crappy the end result may be, and in November, I will join the official National Novel Writer's Month (NaNoWriMo) contest. Actually, I'm not sure contest is the right word--since there is no reward except for what you yourself get out of it...Anyway, I hope that others join me. It is so nice to know that there are some serious writers in our little group. I am so ashamed that I have left my writing at home twice now! Oh well, there is always next time...
Thank you both so much for sharing, I am really enjoying our little group, perhaps sometime after June we could start to meet a little more often--maybe twice per month? Any thoughts?
I am also very glad that Karen managed to come, I hope that we add a few more to our tiny group, 7 or 8 would be ideal...Next meeting will be May 25th, See you all then I hope!!

Hello all!

Rather than creating a whole website, I have opted for the short blog-type version for now. This is where we can "virtually" meet--especially those of us who have already moved on to new places. I hope we will post here often and keep in touch!
